I’ve done something crazy. I have taken my beloved Kona color card and cut it up into tiny little pieces. Why? So I can do this.
It is amazing. I have been frustrated, ever since purchasing this card that I can’t move the swatches around. Yes, it’s great for matching solid fabric to coordinating fabrics that you have in your hands but I like solid colored fabrics. I like lots of solid colored fabrics. And visualizing what lots of solid colored fabrics look like next to each other is nigh to impossible when you can’t move them around. So I did it. I cut up the card and it has changed my life.
Another project I have yet to share with you! These fabrics were selected by a friend for another baby quilt. A strip quilt this time. I’m not going to lie, it turned out super cute.

Another trip to City Craft yields the makings of a super cute baby quilt. I think I’m going to try Elizabeth Hartman’s New Wave this time. We’ve fallen head over heals for the Whale Watch in this house. I think I’ll have to go back and get some more.

I was gone for a while…but I came back. Call it summer vacation. The time was mostly spent grilling food, sharing it with friends, and laying by the pool.
Anywhoo, this weekend I made some things; most notably a quilt for a teeny tiny baby (it’s a girl!)
and some plans for more projects.
One trip to the fabric store where I picked up these lovelies.
I love these bunnies from Cloud9 Fabrics.
While I was there, I also got some beautiful bamboo felt and coordinating embroidery floss.
You may guess that there are some more projects forth coming.
One Amy Butler Weekender bag: finished!
I put the lining together yesterday and hand stitched it in. I have never made anything this elaborate before (or anything that contained so much interfacing). Let’s just take a moment to bask in the doneness of it all.
